In short
CJM server-side tracking sends your site events to Meta, Google Ads and GA4 straight from the server, not only from the browser. The browser event and the server event share the same event ID, so platforms do not count the same action twice. It relies on the CJX™ Pixel.
What is server-side tracking?
It is sending events to the advertising platforms from the server. The CJX™ Pixel collects the event on the site, and CJM forwards it to Meta, Google Ads and GA4 with sending rules per destination.
How does it avoid duplicates?
Browser and server send the same event with the same event ID. Meta, Google and GA4 recognize it and count it once. It is the data that the Meta Conversions API and Google Enhanced Conversions then work on.
Do I need a developer?
Not with GTM installed, see GTM one-click setup. Without GTM, with undetected consent or with unusual forms, a code change is needed.
What does it not do?
- GA4 only receives server-side tracking, not offline conversions.

What is server-side tracking?
It is sending events to the platforms from the server instead of only from the browser. The browser can lose events because of blockers or closed pages, the server cannot.
Do I need a developer?
Not if Google Tag Manager is installed: the CJX™ Pixel is published with one click and CJM manages the sending rules. Without GTM, with undetected consent or with unusual forms, a code change is needed.
